Following the Y2K upgrade I convinced Unilever’s Asia regional management that we should centralise ERP support and future projects in one team, to be based in Singapore. As well as the ERP system I was given responsibility for other regional applications, including eCommerce and BI tools, too. The team had to be recruited, a location found and equipped.
The role involved in me in developing IT strategy, managing software vendors (including outsource providers) and the general challenges of how IT can add value in a large business.
